I love the city of Toronto, although I don't technically live in the heart of it, I still consider myself from Toronto. I love the liveliness and how multicultural the city is. Toronto also habours alot of talented indviduals such as these fashion designers listed below.
I was inspired to showcase this list through the company Runway Crush. Runway Crush is a fashion marketplace where you can discover emerging designers first and shop their most coveted collections. The great news is a lot of the designers featured there are Canadian but they do have non-Canadian designers as well. So here at SMJ, we thought we should create our own list. The list is not in any particular order and includes some of the designers/brands that we personally have heard of and think are great! The post is also in celebration of the upcoming World MasterCard Fashion Week happening next week.
Caitlin Power is a Toronto
based women’s clothing line that offers classic shapes, cuts and styles with architectural
details that praise a woman’s form. They have been the talk of the town by
ETalk, CBC, Elle, and Flare to name a few and have a strong presence on the
runway during World MasterCard Fashion week.
One cannot help but gravitate towards the edgy, bold, feminine and vibrant prints that are the Kaela Kay brand. Catherine Addai taps into her heritage when creating her modern, trendy and vibrant collections. She is certainly a designer worth knowing in the Toronto fashion industry.

Narces is the epitome of romantic glamour in
women’s wear. They specialize in evening attire and have had the opportunity to
cater to royalty! Narces may be Toronto based but they have gained worldwide
recognition and earned their place in our top 10 list.
Raina’s
talent goes beyond the sketchbook, flowing into the hand drawn textiles that
she painstakingly crafts. Inspired by our city of Toronto, Raina was able to
translate the colors of the city into her thought provoking fabrics that make
up her collection. Her pieces are pure works of art.
Stephanie
MacKay is the creative force behind the jewelry line known as Made for Margret.
She prides herself in creating semi-precious jewelry from high quality cut
stones that promotes physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Stephanie’s
education coupled with extensive work history will ensure that her brand
continues to produce quality jewelry that draws people closer to the earth’s
natural energy!
