My mini hair makeover with Clore Beauty Supply and Sensationnel EMPIRE Hair

Clore Beauty Supply and Sensationnel EMPIRE Hair, Toronto Blogger
If you're following me on instagram (smissjblog), you may have seen that I was one of many Toronto influencers hosting an in- store event with Clore Beauty Supply to help promote the launch of the new Sensationnel EMPIRE hair line at their Customer Appreciation day a couple of weeks ago. I am going to honest and say that this was one of the first and few events that I had the opportunity to participate in after being stuck indoors at home for a few weeks due to being ill.

May Favorites 2017: Travel Edition

May Favorites 2017, Essie Nail Polish, The Body Shop, Kendra Dandy Vans Sneakers

I love reading and watching "my favorites" blog posts and YouTube videos so I thought I might start a monthly favorites of my own!

The items pictured above are my favorite discoveries in May. Now that I caught the travel bug I am planning to travel and explore more this summer and I am definitely packing these items with me.

1. Essie Nail polishes

With open toe season here in full swing, a pretty pedicure becomes pretty important. I'm loving the variety of spring shades that are available in Essie nail polishes.
My favorite colors are Mint Candy Apple (754), Resort Romanza ( hot pink), and Sugar Daddy ( light pink 473)

2. Kendra Dandy Vans Sneakers

I love a good sneaker and they sure come in handy when walking long distances while traveling. I love these ones because they are so fun and girly. I have been rocking them everywhere since recently getting them.
Curious on how to rock these cool sneakers? Stay tuned, next week I show you how to style them.

3. The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector

This is my go to hand cream because I suffer from dry and irritated hands due to frequently using the alcohol sanitizers at work. I also use it on my feet as well. I love it because it  keeps my hands and feet moisturized and soft without a greasy build- up.

4. The Ordinary: Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum

This facial serum is extremely affordable (less than $7 CAD) but it does the trick. You only need a few drops before applying your moisturizer or sunscreen.

Hope you enjoyed the post
Until Next Time
Sincerely Miss J

#CNDRescuekit + My Summer Home Manicure Routine

#CNDRescuekit, home manicure, Vinylux Nail Polish, Solar Oil
I love getting my nails done at the nail salon, however I don't go very often due to lack of time and the cost. In the winter I rarely if ever get my nails done at all.  This is mostly because my hands and feet were fully tucked away from the cold.
When the weather gets warmer, a pedicure is a must and I may throw in a manicure if I have time.
I recently got to try the #CNDRescurekit from Creative Nail Design, INC (CND), the leading brand in professional nail beauty. I thought, how great would it be to be able to take care of my own nails at home with similar products as the pros?

Orofluido Asia: The Zen Beauty Kit Review

Orofluido Asia The Zen Beauty Kit Review, Toronto Beauty Blogger
Until now I had no knowledge of the Orofluido brand, but being the product junkie that I am, I had to take the opportunity to try out their new Orofluido Asia Ritual Beauty Kit. My natural hair is the definition of dry and dull especially during the winter months so I thought I would give it a try in hopes that I would see a difference. I've been using the full kit for a couple of weeks.

NYX HD Photogenic Primer Review

NYX HD Photogenic Primer Review, Canadian beauty blogger
I've missed doing beauty posts and reviews, so I thought today would be the perfect day to post a review on the NYX HD Photogenic Primer.  I snagged it when I went to the NYX store opening for their first free standing store in Canada.  I've been using it for a month and here are my thoughts on the product.

That Time of the Month: My Avalai Canada Subscription Box

It's all about girl talk, sweet treats and my Avalai Canada subscription box for today's blog post. For some woman, craving sweets particularly chocolate or candy before or during their periods is a real phenomenal. For me personally, I just crave all my favorite foods including chocolates and candy.  When "it's that time of the month"  I find nothing wrong with indulging and giving into those food cravings if it's in moderation. So, how awesome, fun and convenient would it be to receive a box that will get you through your period and still help other woman as well.

Smile Brilliant Review

Smile Brilliant Review, teeth whitening, Toronto beauty blogger
Pictured above: My own customs trays, my teeth impression, whitening gel, desensitizing gel, and impression making materials
Sincerely Miss J was contacted by a company called Smile Brilliant.com to do an honest review for their professional teeth whitening product, which includes a  tray creation kit and whitening kit. I was excited when I was asked by Jackline if I was interested in doing the review. As an avid coffee drinker, I was always looking for safe and affordable ways to whiten my teeth. I initially started using the system more than 2 months ago inconsistently, and today my teeth feel fine, and I don't have any additional teeth sensitivity using the kit.

Essence Cosmetics : 5 products that will not break the bank, My Picks!

Essence Cosmetics, lip gloss, duo 3d eyeshadow, gel nail polish, lipstick

I have wanted to do this post for so long and it's very much overdue. Beauty has been neglected on this blog because for me when it comes to beauty and reviews I want to hold my readers down with as much honest and detailed information as I can. With all the past "issues" I have not been able to focus on that part which is a section I really love until now.

5 General Tips to Contouring and Highlighting

Thanks Melissa for being a model
I had the luxury of sitting in while my co worker Melissa got dolled up for a wedding. I decided to take full advantage of the opportunity to snap a picture and get some advice from my friend and makeup artist, Preet on  general tips on contouring and highlighting. Melissa really wanted a very natural look so contouring and highlighting are very subtle. Enjoy the read.

Dermalogica FaceMap Our Nation, Beauty, Skin Care, Clear skin
Dermalogica has just launched their Face Map our Nation nationwide campaign here in Canada. To reach out and educate Canadians about their skin. Face Mapping combines Chinese diagnosis techniques to help clients narrow down the causes of  their skin issues by treating the root causes rather than just the symptoms. Consonant Skin Care: All Natural Foaming Face Wash review

100% natural skin care, consonant skin care, natural facial cleanser
My skin is not considered sensitive but I have experienced a few occasions when my skin was irritated or I had an allergic reaction to products that I was using.  Therefore, I don't often experiment too much with products that go on my face.

Jet Set Into Fall '14 with Revlon + Giveaway

Revlon Colorstay Makeup, Makeup Contest, Toronto Blogger, Canadian beauty blogger

This  season Revlon has put together some autumn makeup looks inspired by some of the most well known cities around the world including Shanghai, Paris, New York, London, and Stockholm.

Revlon Colorstay Makeup, Makeup Contest, Toronto Blogger, Canadian beauty blogger

When it comes to makeup I have never been one to experiment with color. I tend to gravitate towards a neutral eye look and go wild with my signature red lip. On the less adventurous days I stick to a neutral lip gloss.

I was challenged to recreate a makeup look inspired by the beautiful city of Shanghai, made up of rich autumn colors such as green, beige, and black. I wanted to create a look that I could wear on a daily bases and easily transition to night.
