Holiday Jamming

Hey Everyone, Miss J is back with another outfit post. This one is from a christmas party that I attended a couple weeks ago. I'm not a dress wearing type of girl, but I do wear them when I have to or when I find something that I really like. For this dress, I fell in love with the colour and the fit. However, the dress was a pain because throughout the night it kept riding up when I walked, making it appear much shorter than it actually was. However, for $25 dollars on sale, I did not mind too much.
Anyways, I will be quite busy preparing for the holidays, working, and putting my energy into some other personal things, so I will like to wish all my fellow bloggers and readers a Merry Christmas if you do celebrate it.
I shall be back after Christmas, but before New Years

Outfit Information: Necklace: Fairweather, Dress: Dynamite, Heels: ? ( purchased 2+ years ago), Clutch: thrifted

Until Next Time,
Sincerely Miss J

Love this clutch

Hey Everyone, this is my newest obsession, a brown crocodile clutch. I received this amazing clutch from a friend who recently returned from Nigeria. I love the detailing, the colour and the craftsmanship. You all will definitely be seeing more of it.
Also, I hope you guys like the new heading, I was so bored of the old one. Anyways, until next time.

Furtastic

Hello everyone, another outfit post!! Yeah!! Anyways, the outfit is made up of a few trends: coloured jeans and faux fur.

I wore this outfit to a b-day dinner party for two of my friends, and then we headed out to a place that offered some live music. I actually ended up wearing different shoes to make it a bit more causal and for more comfort just in case we would be standing. I actually wore cambat boots instead, but the options are endless.

Thanks again,
Sincerely Miss J

The Holidays are Coming!!

Hey everyone, its Dec. 5th so you know what that means!! The holidays are quickly approaching making it offically 20 days until christmas. I love the holidays because its such a magical and happy time of year. Also, its the season  to eat, dress up, and celebrate! Anyways, I finally left my house and went to a family event in downtown Toronto and I thought I would share the holiday spirit with you all. Enjoy.
I love seeing The Bay's display windows, they are so pretty!

So this is what I wore that day. It's nothing crazy, just simple and comfortable. It was actually very cold out so most of the time I was wearing my winter coat. Also I'm rocking a new look, thought I would change it up for the holidays!!
And of course I had to Shout out Miss Diva Abena who is one of the very few friends that I have who is not camera shy!

Anyways, If your not in the christmas spirit hopeful this gets you into one.
Until next time,
sincerely miss J

Inspiration-Thank you!!

Hey everyone,  a while  ago I received a comment from a lovely fellow blogger Jersey Blogess stating that she saw one of my outfit posts awhile back (see picture on the left). She then went on to say that she was inspired to do her own version. After seeing her version, I must say she did a great job using that concept and making it practical to her. After reading that comment it really made my day because it is one thing to just post stuff, but when people actually read it or get inspired by it, its something else. Thank you jersey blogess, this post was a long time coming.
I also want to thank Sharon from Sharzville for featuring me and my style on her site. Thank you for asking me to participant. Click here for the feature.

For me, fashion is all about inspiration, however personal style occurs when you can take something and make it your own. We all don't have the ability to wear the exact things that come directly off the run ways or off our favourite celebrities, style gurus or bloggers but we can be inspired.  So again thanks Jersey Blogees and Sharon. So what inspires me and sharps what I wear? Many things and many people. These are some pictures that are really inspiring me right now.

Happy American Thanksgiving Weekend!!

Hey Everyone, I am alive and well!!! I just wanted to stop by and post a quick outfit post and run off. I also wanted to wish all my American friends and readers a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! So, what are you thankful for this year?

Now back to the outfit, can you believe that 60% of this outfit was thrifted, who said you can't stay on trend on a budget!! Not me!

Now details on the earrings and necklace, I was invited to a jewellery party about two weeks ago. Even though I am on my shopping strike, I fell in love with the necklace, and thought why not support a small business.  So, an update on the "no shopping challenge", I'm over my goal by $250. However, recently I have been very good. Anways, I will be back in the blogging swing again real soon so look out.

Keeping It Simple

Hello everyone, so I'm going to keep this post quick because my stats assignment is calling my name.
So, I love wearing black especially when heading out in the evening
however, at times it can be a bit bland, so to keep it interesting I paired different black items that had different details and textures together

Also, because it's getting cold, I added a thrifted patterened blazer to keep it interesting, and me a little warm.
Here's the finally look below!!

Anyways, pictures are during the day to capture the outfit better, but it's something I wore
in the evening. Please feel free to comment, and FOLLOW if you like what
you see, XOXO

Pop of Colour

Hey everyone, this is a quick outfit post. I have so much to post, but I have been busy  focusing on my readings and assignments. And I'm feeling alot better, and have been out and about. Tonight's outfit post is something I wore to dinner with an old highschool friend. I have not seen her in years, but it was nice catching up. Wow, looking back I can't believe I have been out of highschool  for 7 years, it seems like just yesterday!

Now currently I'm on a "no shopping challenge" that started 2 weeks ago with a friend. The challenge was no buying clothes, accessories, and shoes until the new year. My friend and I started the challenge because our shopping habits seemed to be out of control lately, and I have so much to save up for. We only allowed for 20 dollars max to spend. So my preformance in the challenge has been poor, I'm negative $140. So, hopefully I can get my act together until Jan. 1, and start using what I already have in my closet. So could you go without buying anything for one, two, three months?

I'm sick!!

Hello blogging world! I have come with a another quick outfit post, been busy working nights and all, completing my assignment, and now fighting a bit of a bug. But, what can you do, sometimes you got to do what you got to do!

Anyways, this is what I wanted to wear to church last week, however, due to a mixed up I never made it there. LOL. Okay, now on to the outfit, so, I'm not really a short or med length skirt wearer  but this one was a perfect length and a perfect fit for me. Anyways,  the outfit was dirt cheap and 80% of it was thrifted. Total outfit cost???? drum roll please, $32 from head to toe. The biggest steal was the shoes from Aldo that I got thrifted for $7.99. There were basically brand new!

Outfit Information: scarf- In Italy @ some random shop, shirt: Garage, belt:thrifted, skirt:thrifted, shoes: thrifted

The Pretty colours of fall

Hey everyone, so i'm coming to you with another outfit post. The outfit is simple, just like I like it. There's alot of neutral colours, but I decided to add the pop of colour with the orange floral scarf. Want to change an outfit  in 2 seconds flat, invest in scarves, hats, and other accessories.

One thing that I can't stop wearing is my off the shoulder bag. I love it so much. I have had alot of people stop and ask me where it is from. It was a gift to my mother, but my mother never really made use of it. The bag is 100% leather, and imported from Nigeria.

I am thankful for.....Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!!

I'm thankful for.... well my family, friends, life, and health, oh gosh I'm just about thankful for everything.
Alot has happened and God has really brought me through it. So Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians, and even if your not celebrating thanksgiving this weekend I'm sure you all have reasons to give thanks.

So the outfit was kind of put together 2 weeks ago randomly, but my favourite element is still my animal print shirt. Animal print is definitely not going anywhere for now, and that brings us to the  new "bloggers do it better challenge". It's all about animal print. How convenient for me. If you would like more information or to check out the challenge check here

Baby, I'm a Rockstar!!!

Hey everyone, so I thought I would do another outfit post. This was from a while ago, but I did not really have time to post it, until now. Its nothing crazy exciting, but I love black, and I own alot of it. I guess the reason why i love black so much is because it goes with everything. So, the story was that  I was on my way to a causal b-day party at night, and took a couple of shots. I'm really trying to remember to take pictures of what i am wearing, when i'm on my way out. So I promise lots of outfit inspirations to come, and trust no scrubs will be included in them (lol).

Neutral Eye and Bold Lip

Hey Everyone, so this post is a little bit different than the usual outfit post. This is a face of the day. I decided to post this because when I last did this look I received alot of complements. I also got alot of questions like, did I do it myself, and what did I use to achieve the look. So, this post will help me answer those questions and hopefully inspire someone out there. This is the neutral eye and bold lip look, and is a great look for a galmorous evening out.

1. Make sure your face is clean and moisturized, using products for your skin type, perform your foundation routine
2.  Next I primed my eye lids with urban decay primer potion- labelled 1
3. I then used annabelle trio eyeshadow in haute chocolate- labelled 4. Apply the middle shade to your entire lid, the dark colour to the crease of your eyes, and the lighest colour under your brow bone
4. Use a liquid liner- black ( Lise Watier)- labelled 3 to create a thin line to the top lash line
5. If you like you can apply false lashes, i dont wear them personally. Apply mascara ( mary kay ultimate mascara)- labelled 2
6. Apply a cream blush ( if you like) MAC- Laid Back- labelled 6, and then apply mineral cheek colour (Mary Kay- Golden Copper)- labelled 5, to set cream blush and diffuse colour.
7. Then apply a lipstick (Mary Kay,Hibiscus), and a neutral brown lip liner, not pictured above, blend harsh edges.
                                                                   Done

So enjoy the look, sorry I was taking many of the pictures in the event and forgot to snap the complete look of what I was wearing. Sorry. Until next time.

Sincerely miss J

Update and Natural Hair

Hey everyone, hope everyone is doing well. I have been super busy, and a tiny bit stressed. I still work fulltime and started a stats course online, yes i know what was I thinking. I just submitted my first assignment just 20mins ago, and feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, but not for long because the next one is due next week. Anyways, just wanted to post another outfit. Its easy, and is all about layering for the cold winter months. I'm basically wearing a black long seelve top, a navy blue sweater, a scarf and a light jacket. However, the printed scarf is the main focus.

Also, if you have not already noticed i am wearing my natural hair, which never really happens very often. This particular day was my wash day, i took my hair out of my mini twists, and thought what the heck. Details, about my natural hair coming soon.

It's Fall and say hi to army green

Hey Guys, so this is yet another outfit post, i usually find these kind of posts the easiest to do than anything else. However, I will have a post about my natural hair journey real soon, but in the meantime, enjoy. I must say one of my favourite items  right now are my army green jackets. I love army green, because it works so well with so many colours, and textures. It's definitely a piece that you will use very often. I actually have two of them, one is long sleeves and the other is short sleeves. This is the short sleeves one pictured above and below. So, remember, when styling yourself keep it simple, and to your comfort level. Enjoy

Goodbye Summer!!

Hey everyone, so I was just laying around enjoying my short time off, when a thought just came to me. It's mid September, and it's starting to freeze out there! Therefore, no more summer, now onto fall. At first I was sad and not very amused, but a part of me missed the cool days. I love fall weather and fall fashion. Therefore, I guess this time of the year is bitter sweet for me.
Now, about 2 weeks ago we had some okay weather and i decided to attempt perhaps for the last time to wear something summery. So, i say this goodbye summer, we shall miss you.

One year older!!! Giving many thanks to God

Hey everyone, this is another outfit post! I'm so sorry that i have been slacking on posting to the blog. I've been busy with my full time job, and with some other part time projects. However, no worries I will try my best to keep it coming.

Now onto some important news, I'm 25 now!! I turned 25 on the 25th of August, and let me tell you this, i'm still in denial. I feel like life is flying by, and i 'm not ready for it to go by this qucikly. Oh gosh, i'm so old!!
This year I decided to keep the celebrations low key, nothing but dinners. Therefore, I will like to take the time to thank everyone for the b- day wishes, the girls at work for surprising me with a cake during our night shift, and all my other budds who treated me out. Anyways, this was what  I wore for one of the dinner outings. It was simple, comfortable, and modest.
