When you live in a colder climate like me, considering outerwear in
relation to what you are wearing underneath is quite important.Investing in good
outerwear will not only keep you warm but can help elevate your outfit underneath. Plus, in most cases the coat or jacket maybe the only thing that people see. For today's post I wanted to introduce a bit of colour and show how to keep warm by styling this mauve colored wool coat from Club Monaco that I've had for years.

I have not been able to do a "fashion 9-5" post in awhile. However, today I'm giving my business causal wearing ladies some fun inspiration with colour and polka dots.
Did you ever imagine that combining a polka dot skirt and a bright yellow trench coat, would actually look this chic and be appropriate for the workplace? I didn't until now.
I don't really watch television, but I have watched a few episodes of the show "Scandal". The fashion has undeniably become a crucial part of the show, and displays corporate fashion at it's best. When I put together this outfit it reminded me of what I could see the main character, Olivia Pope wearing on the show. She proves that trousers can be just as sexy as dresses or skirts, while still remaining professional.

Fashion 9-5: The plaid blazer
The other day I had an epiphany while getting ready to head out the door for my current clinical placement for school. For years I have never had to dress up for a 9-5 type of job as I have never had one. My field of work requires me to wear uniforms and I predominantly work shift work. Now, I have to rack my brain constantly on what is considered too dressy, too flashy, but still allows me to utilize my closet and show my personality in a business causal work environment.
